Development Schedule

I  recently just released the first public demo for Looking Grimm on Itch.io. Thank you to everyone who has played it so far. This demo will be up in perpetuity.

I would like to share the roadmap going forward:

  • January 12, 2025- I am planning to make a Steam page and a trailer for the game. This version of the demo will be added to both Steam and Itch.io. I am also going to add a small story for the Demo, but it will be changed in the final product to avoid spoilers. It will include the following features. This will be the final public demo before the release, but I may do bug fixes and small updates to make sure it is working smoothly for everyone.
    • Four areas total
    • A boss for each area
    • (Hopefully) one new type of area
    • Menu to forfeit runs and minigames
    • New creatures that will appear in this demo:

  • Sometime in 2026- I am hoping to complete the game, but it may be delayed. This is a solo project, and I am the only programmer, composer, artist, animator, writer, and marketer. I am also a busy student at USV. These are features I want to try to implement before the release of the game, but some of these may need to be scrapped.

  • Features that I am planning to have in the game:
    • Boss fights
    • Story progression
    • Achievements
    • Side quests
    • Dungeon areas
    • Arena battles
    • In-battle inventory
    • Ultimate moves for each character
    • Alternate colorways for each character

  • Other features that I am going to try to implement:
    • Global inventory and crafting
    • Recruiting townspeople and creatures
